The Addams Family young@part

In the kooky, upside-down world of the Addams Family, to be sad is to be happy, to feel pain is to feel joy, and death and suffering are the stuff of their dreams. Nonetheless, this quirky family still has to deal with many of the same challenges faced by any other family, and the spookiest nightmare faced by every family creates the focus Lippa, Brickman, and Elice’s musical: the Addams kids are growing up.

The Addamses have lived by their unique values for hundreds of years and Gomez and Morticia, the patriarch and matriarch of the clan, would be only too happy to continue living that way. Their dark, macabre, beloved daughter Wednesday, however, is now an eighteen year-old young woman who is ready for a life of her own. She has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet, smart boy from a normal, respectable Ohio family — the most un-Addams sounding person one could be! And to make matters worse, she has invited the Beinekes to their home for dinner.

In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change.

Kast Off Kinks

The Kast Off Kinks formed in 1994 to keep the music playing on, and it is what the name implies – the original line-up consisted of the band that played Lola (apart from Ray and Dave) – Avory, Dalton and Gosling – together with Dave Clarke covering for the Davies brothers. In 2009, the line-up became the band that played Come Dancing – Avory, Gibbons and Rodford (respectively the Kinks’ longest-serving drummer, keyboard player and bassist) – still with Dave Clarke on lead guitar and vocals. Jim then became very busy playing with The Zombies and Argent, so John Dalton was persuaded out of retirement and went on to play very regularly with The Kast Off Kinks.

Very sadly, we lost Jim Rodford in 2018 and Ian Gibbons in 2019. The Kast Off Kinks played the Official Kinks Fan Club gathering in November 2019, with Mark Haley on keyboards, but then John Dalton announced his retirement (again) and the COVID pandemic arrived, so The Kast Off Kinks played no more until the Official Kinks Fan Club gathering in November 2021, when Mike Steed, on bass, joined Dave Clarke, Mick Avory and Mark Haley, with guest performances by Bob Henrit on drums and John Dalton doing some vocals.

Dave Clarke resigned for personal reasons in 2025 and was replaced by Robin Bibi.

Now The Kast Off Kinks, comprising Robin, Dave, Mark and Mike, are back on the road.

Almost every other ex-Kink has guested with The Kast Off Kinks, including Ray Davies.

Patience

Step into the topsy-turvy world of Gilbert & Sullivan with Patience, a sparkling satire on art, love and fashion.

The village maidens are head over heels for the flamboyant poet Bunthorne, abandoning their handsome dragoons in favour of sighs, sonnets and aesthetic poses. But Bunthorne’s heart belongs only to the innocent milkmaid, Patience — who has never been in love!

When Patience finally discovers what love feels like, it throws everyone into confusion. And matters grow even more chaotic with the arrival of Bunthorne’s rival, the dashing Grosvenor, who steals the maidens’
attention in an instant.

Packed with witty wordplay, catchy melodies, and G&S’s trademark topsy-turvy humour, Patience is a joyful romp that pokes fun at fads, fashion, and the follies of romance. It’s an evening of entertainment not to be missed.
