The village maidens are head over heels for the flamboyant poet Bunthorne, abandoning their handsome dragoons in favour of sighs, sonnets and aesthetic poses. But Bunthorne’s heart belongs only to the innocent milkmaid, Patience — who has never been in love!
When Patience finally discovers what love feels like, it throws everyone into confusion. And matters grow even more chaotic with the arrival of Bunthorne’s rival, the dashing Grosvenor, who steals the maidens’ attention in an instant.
Packed with witty wordplay, catchy melodies, and G&S’s trademark topsy-turvy humour, Patience is a joyful romp that pokes fun at fads, fashion, and the follies of romance. It’s an evening of entertainment not to be missed.
